September 2009: Grey literature library reaches 4000 reports
The number of reports in the grey literature library reached 4000 this month! Nearly 90% of reports available have come via the OASIS form. The grey literature library is proving to be one of the most frequently accessed resources on the ADS website
The ADS welcomes community archaeology projects and local societies to the OASIS online submission form. Please feel free to register as a user and work through the form. If you have any queries please contact either caf@britarch.ac.uk or, for technical issues, oasis@ads.ahds.ac.uk.
The OASIS project brings together a number of strategic partners: the Archaeology Data Service, the Archaeological Investigations Project (AIP) of Bournemouth University, the Archaeology Commissions Section of English Heritage, the National Monuments Record of English Heritage, Historic Scotland and the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland under the umbrella of the University of York.
An OASIS form is available for both England and Scotland. Contractors will need only one login to access both the English and the Scottish versions of OASIS but will be asked to choose which country they are working in after entering their username and password. HERs will automatically be directed to the right version of the form for the area they cover.
